Any Tricks For Stopping An Old Office Chair From Flipping Backwards? I’ve Tightened The Spring, Not Helping.
There’s got to be a website with tricks for things like this. I don’t care of it leans at all and stays straight up — so long as it doesn’t flip backwards. Thanks.
weld a metal beam from the back of the chair to the base. that should fix it
I’d throw it in the trash, overhand of course (so it doesn’t lean backwards) Just my opinion though.
I searched for “office chair repair” and got this at the top of the list:http://www.officechairrepair.com/
It looked interesting, they may have something you can use.
Your problem is not unusual on old chairs. Assuming it is an old wood and seat office chair and that the leg base is not broken, you may have broken or missing one or more parts. If the threaded screw which adjusts the height is 1″ diameter, you can replace the mechanism. If it is not 1″, you will also have to replace the Hub to accept the 1″ thick threaded screw. Click “Manual Mechanism” and “Hub”.
try a wheelie bar like they use on dragsters
